I just bought a Linksys WRT54GS router so I could connect over the VPN to our server at work. My previous router didn't support the necessary protocols. I can connect to the VPN and see the network drives, run aps, etc. just fine if I connect through the router through a wired connection. However, if I want to use the VPN over wireless, I can connect to the server but nothing works. The client says it's connected. I can even ping the server. I tried setting the computer in the DMZ and it still won't work.
Any ideas?

In theory it should work the same over wireless or hardwire. They're both connected to the same side of the router.
Have you upgraded the firmware on the router to the latest version?
The problem could also be with the wireless NIC on the laptop. Try updating it's driver as well.

I tried updating the driver on the laptop and the router firmware is current. I've contacted IT at work and will call them tomorrow. This is a very odd problem. The VPN works just fine through the router as long as I'm hard wired. Of course, this kind of defeats the purpose have me buying a wireless router.
