Ebay is about all you have to work with when it comes to this stuff.

Searching ebay comes up with a few of them.
When all else fails, replace the user.

This might help http://support.gateway.com/s/Manuals/Mobile/8509155.pdf
it might be a different model, but close enough to show you how. Keyboards are not usually too bad.

Take pictures as you disassemble, and tape the screws to a sheet of paper. Write the location of the screws on the sheet of paper. That's how I do it. Others might have better ideas.

Wow, I feel like I completely misread your entire post :p

Replacing a keyboard has always been the easiest thing about laptops, since it is generally so easily accessible. Good luck with it all :)
When all else fails, replace the user.

I've never worked on a Gateway laptop oddly. However, many laptops just require the popping off of the panel next to the LCD & it will give access to screws holding the keyboard in. Sometimes that panel will be screwed in from below, so I'd recommend that you remove any screws directly underneath it just in case. They usually come off with just the pull of your fingers.

I did a pretty thorough search & it appears that there is minimal support for this laptop for service.
