Hi, Shameful Noobie here :
Bougth an Athlon 64 +3800, nvidia 7600 GT rig.
The case has this great window on the left (preferred an all metal case but had to buy it because of the power source I wanted).
The window has this huge fan and when I power on the rig, 4 BRIGHT blue lights on the corners of the fan light up the total darkness in which I love to play.
I don't want to lose time returning the PC for a new case.
Can I detach the lights (they connect with this two tiny copper wires) without burning the fan or blowing up the building ?
Or should I bolt to the case the cardboard box of the motherboard that I'm currently using to hide the lights and be done with it ? =)
Thanks in advance for your valuable hints !
Yes, kill me ... lights in fan dilemma

If no other suggestions appear, I'm already a whole lot better than before with your ingenious solution.
That little piece of tech is transparent, so I can tape it all around except for intake and exhaust, and it will be much better (if somewhat ugly, heh)
Theophilusmousse, thanks a lot !

Are the lights built into the fan or seperate? You can just disconnect the wires to the lights. If the lights are built int othe fan, then disconnect the fan - you probably don't need it. A modern PC is adequately ventilated with a CPU fan and the two fans in the PSU.
You could also replace the fan with a non-lighted one.

After careful study and consideration, scissors in hand and no more patience, I cut the fan's 4 frigging lights just below the tiny bulbs, saying this mantra : do your worst, do your worst, etc.
Not for the fainthearted, we are talking about a 1.237 u$s rig here, but what the heck, you only live once !
But the heavens are kind to stray animals and idiots and the fan, the PC and the house electric installation function ok !! ( so far ... )
Thanks anyway and I hope someone benefits from my daring experience.
See ya
