Looking for a Good LCD Repair Place

Post by GuardianAsher »

I have an LCD with a dead backlight. I tried looking for a new screen for the lappy, but they run in excess of $200+. Anyone know of a good place I can send the screen to, so I can get the CCFL Backlight replaced on it, and not cost me an arm and a leg?

dont know how good you are with electroincs... but it is a simple repair once you get it appart. You could look for rebuild kits that normaly come with 2 tubes and the inverter board for like 40 bux.

Lemme put it this way. I've never messed with an LCD, this is for a big time client, the electrician that worked on my house panel, and I don't want to take the chance...

I just did this for someone too...I did opt to replace the whole top half of the laptop(lcd, case, and everything in it) The screen was $190 shipped and I only had to remove 8 screws to replace it.

have you ever done any case modding? all it is is dissasembly and replacement of the lamps... the electrical part of it is all sockets... the hard part is just taking it apart and putting it back together.

a lot of it depends on the specific panel. there are some panels out there which have the backlight integrated into an assembly with the LCD.
