Hey All,
I'm installing a little surveilance system for a client of mine. Using Watcher from digi-watcher.com. The software is great as far as recording and capturing from multiple cameras. And the remote viewing from your web browser works good too. But, I'm having problems with it's "Remote View" program.
Setup :
Cable Modem :: Router :: PC 1 and PC 2
PC 1 is just a computer at the desk used for records and what not.
PC 2 is the computer used for the cameras and capture software.
The router firewall is up and running. Issues come up when trying to use the Remote View program to view the cameras on PC 2 from computers on or off the network. The software asks if I'm behind a firewall, but locally that shouldn't matter, should it? If I am behind a firewall, it asks me for the SOCKS info. I have no idea about this stuff or what to put in here/how to set up the proxie. So any help on the matter would be appreciated. If anybody else has used the software and knows how to get by this part I'd appreciate the help.

Locally it shouldn't matter, no, as long as you're not running a software firewall on the computer in which case just give it permission to use the port.

Yah, I didn't think it would. No firewallls enabled internally, so not sure what the problem is. Kind of annoying as by all accounts it should work, I've followed they're instructions to the T and nothing. I'm sure I'll figure it out in the next couple of days, but would be nice to get it all done.
