Semi "affordable" gaming laptop, Mayhem G3

Post by EvilHorace »

Looks pretty decent for the price. There are others can beat its gaming benchmarkmarks but they cost ALOT more. If I wanted to cough up that kind of dough, it's tempting. We'll see how taxes go this year.

Can also be ordered with the AMD 64 3700+ cpu too but that's still a costly cpu option. The 3400+ isn't much more than the default 3200+.

Yeah I know, hardly inexpensive when you add what you want like 1 GB of memory, the 7200 rpm HDD, 3400+ CPU......almost $2K!

...but compared to the other so called desktop replacement gaming notebooks, it does pretty good.

Update:

Got one!!! :)

VERY nice laptop and with the items listed above too, was on sale for ~$200 off the normal price. Plays all games very well, including Doom3. Tom's Hardware is somewhat hard on their review BUT then they're comparing it to laptops that cost $1000+ more.

Also has a built-in wireless NIC so I don't even need to use my card that the older lappy needs. Has all sorts of cool bells and whistles besides.

ABS now has a G5 which has even better stuff BUT it's also another $1000.
