O/C' ing shutdown problems

My system - P3700@1000, 1.8v, 256 PC143 sdram, Asus CUSL2, Win98se. When I run 143/107/35 I have no problem, but at 143/143/35 my computer won't shutdown! I get much better memory scores on Sanda when memory is at 143, so I would prefer to stay there. Any ideas on how to solve this....I would like to shut the machine off once in a while!

try setting your ram at cas 3. , or living with a lower clock speed.

I have the same problem with my old Celeron computer. Never figured it out and wasn't able to shutdown. It just happened after about 6 months of use.

Same thing happens to me when I push my system too far. Never solved it, just throttled back a bit.

if you're running 2-2-2, try 3-3-3. i've got a similar setup: p3 700 & CUSL2. i only push it to 980 unless i feel like being daring that day.

the difference is negligible if you ask moi.

Well I solved my shutdown problem and it had nothing to do with my ram. I unplugged a USB mouse and the computer shuts down correctly.

Why it worked when my ram settings were lower is beyond me???
If any of you are having this shutdown problem, take a look at your USB devices.

That solved it for my old Celeron computer too. No USB but it's only an MP3 box anyway.
