dead mobo?

Post by Shadow250 »

i have a msi kt7pro with 1.2 ghz t-bird cpu. it will be running for a bit then poof no video and the hdd spins down. it makes a whooshing noise as it does this. seems to be coming from the general area of the cpu and northbridge. then it wont restart for hours. have to cycle the psu switch to get it to even try to turn on then it displays the video bios briefly then whooshes out again. tried dissconnecting everything like hdd cd rom, tried known working pci vid card different ram, psu, reseated cpu. im sure its not over heating cuz it runs about 35c. any ideas?
