Post by nitro237 »

I am thinking of getting a DVD burner , and will probably try to get one that will burn + or - , but was wondering which format will take over and which one will become the "beta of VCR" ?

DVD-R is more compatible with older players, but anything made in the last 3 years should play DVD+R and it is emerging as the more accepted standard.

Play it safe and buy a burner that will do both.

That's probably what I'll do . But I hate having to buy both + and - media if one type doesn't become the standard . It would be a pain having to use 2 types just to get a movie to play in whichever DVD player I want to play a movie in . Plus borrowing and trading with friends would be a pain .

I just wish one would become the standard and all players would play the same media :)

They can all play DVD-R if you want to play safe, but sooner or later one will emerge as the standard.
