MP3 Players

I would like to purchase an MP3 player that has a harddrive so I can download books on tape. Does anyone have experience with these gadgets? Which one would you recommend, how big a hard drive, etc? Also, I thought of an iPod as a likely choice but I am using WindowsXP. Has anyone used an iPod with Windows? There are also Creative Nomad models: Jukebox and Zen-anything there?

I found out that the iPOD is the only MP3 player with a harddrive that will play the audible formats used for downloaded books. I just wish the devices weren't so expensive.
