Off and Running (and dual bios works)

Post by Lil' Timmy »

Ok, I just want to say thanks to everyone here (and the amdmb forums) for helping me get to where I am now, especially Demrok, HOOD, and DocSilly. I feel like I have a pretty good grasp of my current OCing situation. Right now, I'm at 11.5x200, and that appears to be about as far as I can go, though I may be able to get up to 11.5x208 (208 was the highest I was stable at with lower multipliers). My Silent Boost is working out, I think. Temps are 50/55, which is pretty good/average for this mobo, from what I've read. Plus it's quiet :)

Couple of questions: 11.5 is stable at +7.5% vcore, would there be any benefit to jacking that to 10%? Would upping the vdimm help me get to higher FSBs (I'm syncing the mem speed w/ FSB)? I was leary about changing the vdimm for some reason; is there any more danger in changing that than the vcore? It's crucial xms memory (with the heat spreader and whatnot).

Oh and one more thing, in the process of trying to get my FSB higher, I seem to have killed my main bios. Once or twice I POSTed and then got half way into the bios (it would freeze at bios screen or just show some of it, was funky). I think this is what killed it. Now, no matter what I do in the qflash thing, it won't boot to main bios (F5), only the backup (F1). I think this is pretty cool! This dual bios actually works! :) Now I just hope I can flash the main back to working F5. Heh, I wonder how I'd be feeling right now if I didn't have two bioses to lean on.

Anyway, thanks again to all. Oh and, one thing that's been annoying me is that apparently the pro2 is inferior to the pro? Can this be? Have I been hoodwinked???
