Hey everyone!
I personally have over 10 DVD's, and I love em'. But, however, I noticed people before never used to buy new released movies on VHS. Is it the special features, sound, quality, or do you feel obligated?
I have to say it's both for me, because I have better sound on my computer. :)

I feel obligated to "be" human. The life of a DVD sounds boring to me.

Actually I owned tons of movies on VHS before I started buying them on DVD. THe really good ones were replaced with the DVD version.

Not really obligated, but DVD's don't wear out, you can hop to any scene in the movie, special features, better sound and video quality, etc... it's just nice to have your fav's on DVD.

DVDs don't get eaten by VCRs. Sound, picture, features are better. You can take a shower with them also. Love that.

The far better picture quality is what I like. And like MV said, no sensitive tape to worry about. Plus the ability to go to your favorite scene almost instantly and sometimes I like the extras too.

I have tons of videos which I have ignored since I got into DVD's. Once you get use to the quality it's very hard to even watch a video again.

yep, im in the process of converting my vhs collection to dvd (selling or giving or donating vhs away) then replacing them w/ dvds. however, there are still a couple vhs movies that aren't out yet on dvd that i gotta keep my vhs machine around for (star wars, indy, superman, et, etc).

I can't stand Pan and scan, if you think about it, you never get to see a full 1/3rd of any P&S'd video, that imho is tragic.

hahah, you said it right man. Think about seeing an epic movie such as Gladiator or Braveheart in Pan-Scan. You miss so much. I've always wanted to get Star Wars Widescreen (original) but I can't find it anywhere. I always find the "Special Edition" and I'm sorry, but theres a couple scense that they added/changed which I utterly hate.

I just wish Lucas would release 'em on DVD! Why the heck is he waiting?
