i was just wondering....but would there be any problems if I ran a xp2500 barton with some pc2100 ram?

would the CPU be held back becuase the ram cant run faster than 266 with the processor running at 333?

I believe you can. You'll just need to change it in the bios of course. And it will lower performance naturally.

Some 2100 ram will do 166, you might try and see.

On a KT400 mobo the ram and cpu run at the same FSB speed. So either your ram will have to be able to handle a FSB of 166Mhz or you will have to under clock the CPU
