I use two modems, a zoom 56K dualmode external, and a US Robotics 33.6K external both are set to use v.34 because:
a: Phone lines aren't good enough to run faster then 28.8
b: compatability insurance
c: I dont wonna! (huh?)
anywho, I get requent connection drops and within an hour I can drop more then 1000 packets! multilink works about 25% of the time I called my ISP they tend to blaim the phone companie and come up with new things that might be a problem. I as usual invesitgate and call up SBC about the issuse my ISP's (called snowcrest http://www.snowcrest.com ) tech rep has spoke of. so far nothing but the same old problems! I assume that because my modems DO work togeather that means there is something else amiss, I belive my ISP has something to do with it I pay and extra $10/month for multilink and having this instability is unacceptable! I have tried modem drivers, init strings, different modems, different OS's different phone lines at other peoples houses. everything, everytime I get the same problems, process of elimination says, ISP to blaime, what should I say to get these guys to get off their keester and fix this? or what is a good ISP that will charge $26/mon for local multilink access, unlimited?
thanks in advance to everyone who helps me tackle this frusterating issue!
