Pull everything except the video card.
DO NOT overclock for now!
Use the conservative settings in BIOS for now.
Is your PSU certified for Athlons? If it truly is it should have two fans on it not just one.
Test the ram using DocMemory to make sure it's working properly: http://simmtester.com/page/products/doc/docinfo.asp
Check the PSU voltages either with a digital multimeter (preferably) or the PC Health menu in BIOS. Check the +12, +5, and +3.3v buses and make sure they're within 5% of the expected voltage.
Hope this helps.

Eh? That doesn't really matter as long as you have enough case fans.
Of course you'll certainly need some serious PSU fans if you don't have case fans like some crazy setups I've seen.
I'll second (er... third or whatever) pulling everything but the bare essentials though.
Spindle collector. FC-AL 9x18x10k; SCSI 3x36x15k, 1x18x10k, 1x73x10k, 1x9x10k, 1x18x7.2k; IDE 1x120x7.2k, 1x40x5.4k, 1x9x7.2k, 1x6.4x?, 1x2.5x?

Has nothing to do with fans, although that's part of the certification.
My point is that there is NO AMD certified PSU that has one fan. If it doesn't meet that spec, then it probably fails in another department as well.
Anyone tries to sell you a PSU with one fan and claims it's AMD certified is lying. It MIGHT be AMD "recommended" but not certified. BIG DIFFERENCE.
Modern Athlon & P4 mobos require heavier than normal 12 volt buses. (ATX 2.1 spec). A non certified PSU may seem to work properly but you'll get random crashes under load.
I constantly see people spend a LOT of money on a good mobo and premium memory and vid card, and then skimp on the PSU.
