I finally bought a Zip drive to back up files, photos, ect. and want to back up Outlook Express email addresses and Explorer bookmarks in ME but can not figure out which files to back-up? I have 2 identities set up in Outlook Express if that matters.

Also, what other files would you recommend I back-up?

Thanks in advance

to backup your IE Favorites:

/Windows/Favorites -->copy all the files

to backup your Address Book

/Windows/Application Data/Microsoft/Outlook/.wab files (they will have the user name in the filename)

to backup email messages
/Windows/Application Data/Identities/{DD937700-280A-11D4-8C82-AC8E054F190F}---will be similar---/ copy all the files (your folder names will be after them i.e. inbox, sent, deleted...

Thanks b-man-1, I knew the favorites folder location but dorked out on that one!!! DOH!

Thanks for the help on the email back-ups. It was alot easier w/ Netscape. Browse to the profile folders and it was all there.

Thanks again.

You can also export your address book (under 'Tools'). This is what I usually do, and then when I reformat I just import it back in. I usually export using the text file (comma seperated values) becuase it is the most compatible.
