King Kong is coming

Post by blade »

Yo! Maybe now we'll have a worthy remake of the immortal 1933 King Kong:

Peter Jackson's first post-Lord of the Rings film project will be this big-budget remake of the 1933 film King Kong. The film's special effects will be handled by Weta Ltd., Jackson's company, which was founded to produce the effects in the Lord of the Rings films. As soon as his team is done with The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, Jackson, Fran Walsh, and Philippa Boyens will start rewriting a treatment for the long-in-the-works film that they had drawn up in 1997.

Remember the terrible 1977 version and that hokey poster? Kong wasn't close to being that big.
