animated gifs

Post by sheerdark »

Hey all,

I am having a problem with Internet Explorer 6 currently, I cannot view animated gifs on the web. Such as if I load my personal website, http://www.sheerdark.com , my animated gifs load but are not animated and if I try to save them from other sites....it tries to save them as .bmp files. But it works on my server when I load the site, with IE6 also with the same Windows Updates as this computer has. I know that in the past when this happened, all I had to do was clear my Internet Cache and the problem cleared right up, but that is not fixing the problem this time...and I searched Microsoft's site to no avail. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,

Matt

Do you have your temp internet settings set high? If so try lowering that.

Some anti ad apps will also make animated gifs non-repeating, check the settings for any you are using.

Other than those 2 things I don't know what else to try. Same thing has happened to me before to and checking the above has usually worked.

Thanks for the help everyone....figured it out with Blade's help that it was my Zone Alarm 3.0 that kept it from displaying correctly....becuase it has an ad-blocker in it. Thanks for the help...I also followed the other instructions on the pages that DocSilly sent me to....so thanks to you both.
