Burning probs

Post by NascarFool »

Two burners, Plextor 40x12x40x and a LiteOn 48x24x48x. Fresh install of XP and the Plextor will burn Cue & bins without an error using CDRWin 3.9C, on the other hand, the LiteOn dumps a drive paramater error. I've tried FireBurner and Nero on the LiteOn with the same results. If I convert the bin to iso, the LiteOn has no problem burning the ISO with Easy CD 6. Any suggestions ? Tried with DMA enabled and disabled. Also tried with the CDRWin aspi layer and the latest Adaptec/Roxio aspi layer. Changed IDE channels and different IDE cables. :(

I flashed the liteon to the latest fimware and the same error occurs;

Exact Error:
Error: 'START DAO RECORDING' command failed on device 0:1:0 Unable to set disc parameters

Specs:
XP2400+ (no O/C)
8RDA+ (same thing happened when I had an 8K3A+)
1GHz PC2700 @ PC2100
Rad AIW 9700 Pro
onboard sound and nic
WD 40gig ATA100 7200rpm
Fresh install of XP Pro
SP1A installed
All drivers up to date.

I think the problem lies with the CUE sheet. Here is something I got off Google:
I found that when burning data discs, if I had some spaces typed in on the last line of the cue sheet, I would get this error. Once I backspaced over any and all blank space on the last line of text and re-saved the cue sheet, I would not get this error.
Weird though why only on the Lite-On has the error.

You might want to search more on Google and see what else comes up.

Hmmm . . I don't think that's it. There is nothing mentioned about the cue sheet in the error. I saw posts on other sites that had similar errors but had "rejected cue sheet" somewhere in the error. :(
