Pop !

I have a soundblaster live! sound card, and a set of Logitech z560 4.1 speakers... recently they have started to give a loud POP! evry once in a while, weather im listening to music, or playing a game, or the speakers are just on, emmiting no sound.. I have tried to reinstall the drivers, to no avail, anyone else got suggestion?? it is getting more and morte frequent... otherwise contacting logitech for a RMA is the last option..

My speakers pop when fans are turned on or off.......

Keep in mind it might not be the sound card. It might be an electrical device in your house - your A/C (or heater), fridge, flourescent lights coming on, large motors, etc.

My speakers were making a strange crackling sound for a while that I thought was the card until I realized it was my cell phone (the speaker amp would pick up interference from it if I left it on and it was near them).

If the sound is pretty consistent try muting the sound card and see if it still happens, that would make it unlikely that it's the card.

Ya... speakers send out electric magnetic waves... (hence when you stick them next to your monitor, good ones anyways, will turn your screen weird colors). If something is interferring with that it might be the problem... i'm just guessing though.

The reason speakers will goof up your monitor's picture is due to the magnets in the speakers - but decent computer speakers are shielded to prevent that.

I know if any light is turned on in the house that is one the same leg (electrical term) of power that my amps are on ill hear a pop.

yea, i know about the interfearance, but i cant relate it to anything, but heres the problem, i have had these speakers for like 7 months or so, and they just started doing it in tha last month, not only that, they are getting more and more frequent... thats what makes me think its the speakers

Does it do it consistently? if so try connecting a set of headphones to the computer. If the headphones pop too then it's not the speakers.
