Anyone have problems with the Intellipoint Software ?

Post by smb »

I was using it, and the mouse pointer moved across the screen, obviously this is normal if you are moving it, but I wasn't touching the mouse. I uninstalled it, and the poltergeist is gone.

You using the latest version (4.1 I *think*)?

Yeah I've had trouble with it. I prefer not to use it normally, but I tried 4.0 and it seemed better behaved than previous versions, and I liked that you can bidn the extra buttons on my Explorer mouse to any keypress AND customize this for each different game. It's the only way I can get those extra buttons to work in Quake3 (I play the Q3 Urban Terror mod).

My rule is don't install it if you don't need it. If you install it and have problems remove it and forget it.

I usually don't install mouse software. I'm using a USB Explorer, so I only need to use the scrool button and the left and right.

I'm using a piece of stainless steel. it's not too shiny, and before I was using a black mousepad with the same effect.
