Proposed system -> asking for opinions!

Post by LTrain »

Well, hopefully getting a new computer in the next few weeks. Here's what I've got so far, let me know what you all think.

Case: Antec 1080AMG w/430W PSU
MB: Asus P4S333
CPU: P4 2.0 GHz
RAM: 2 x 512mb Corsair DDR333 PC2700
HD: WD1200JB 120GB w/8mb RAM
CDR/W: Yamaha 3200E
Video: MSI GeForce 4200Ti 128mb
Sound: Creative SB Audigy Platinum Ex

It should round out to be ~$1000, maybe a little more. This is not including case mods/fans/etc. I don't plan on overclocking it now, but who knows, maybe I'll bump it a few mHz here or there.

I'm wondering what you guys think. Would you change anything? Would you add anything?Drop anything? I'm thinking about adding a 40GB or less HD, JUST for the system files (XP Pro). I'm also thinking about the Asus P4S533 MB.

Thanks for all your hints!

trust me,y ou won't need 160GB. Unless your one of those warez people that has thousands of programs (or just really rich) you won't need to get another drive. if you want system files on a seperate drive, get a cheap 9GB SCSI or something (well, cheap for SCSI anyways)
