PC Infrared Data Transfer to Cell

Post by RaT »

i recently got a Ericsson T68m cell phone. i'd like to transfer data (simple contacts, address, etc.) between my pc and cell. the cell already has an infrared "port" and my PC doesn't.

Anyone know how to get this working?

I can purchase the USB "connector" cable for $50 but if getting an infrared port (for the pc) is alot cheaper then i minus well try that.

will it be alot slower compared to data transfer via usb cable.

I don't know for sure, but might that infra-red be for transfering between one cell phone to another? Where the USB thing is to transfer from PC to cell. I'm just guessing here, though :)

i think it's main function would be to transfer data cell to cell.

i read somewhere in the cell faq that with a capable infrared device for your PC, data transfer is possible.

oh well i'll prolly end up buying the usb cable anyway :)
