VGA to laptop monitor adapter

Post by Cryo »

Does anyone know where I can get a device to allow me to connect a standard laptop monitor connector to my video card output? I am looking to mount a laptop monitor on the side of my case and I'm trying to figure out how to do it. Even specs for the needed device would work. Let me know.

You can start looking at http://www.earthlcd.com/ for a LCD kit.

Desktop LCD monitors have all the required electronic onboard to work with a VGA/DVI output.
Laptop screens have the controller integrated somewhere in the Laptop.
You can check their controller section at http://www.earthlcd.com/controllers.htm but they are not cheap.

Check the VGA LCD FAQ, it'll explain a lil bit more http://www.earthlcd.com/vgalcdfaq.htm
