Voodoo problem...system won't display on monitor

I have an Asus P4B533 mobo with 1.6a Northwood (not o/c'd...yet).

AGP card is currently a TNT2 M64 (Personal Cinema Ti-200 replacement will be here within the next two days)

PCI card is a Voodoo5 5500. This card worked fine as a second video card on my P2B-LS. However, I get no signal to the monitor from the AGP card if the Voodoo5 card is plugged in...monitor light remains yellow, screen remains black. As soon as I unplug the Voodoo and boot, I can see everything, the BIOS, type on this forum, etc. I haven't connected a monitor to the Voodoo, but this shouldn't make a difference.

Any idea why this is happening? Any idea if I can get the machine to boot with the Voodoo plugged in? Or is the Voodoo incompatible with my chipset? The verbal diagnostics say the system is booting, but I see nothing happening. Thanks

Well you should connect a monitor to the Voodoo just to see if it's become the primary monitor. I suspect your mobo is configured to make the PCI card the primary if it's detected.

In BIOS there should be a setting to make the AGP or PCI the primary monitor.

You were right, the BIOS was set for PCI video to be primary. Damn, it was hard to find it tho', ended up having to read the manual to locate it cuz it's so buried. Also, I thought most mobos with AGP slots were set in the BIOS to be AGP primary...eh, whatcha gonna do with Award anyway...

Also, just got my new Enermax installed, it's purring like a kitten (unlike that Antec True330). Just waiting on the new AGP video card, and I'm ready to close the case up and start overclocking this thing.
