Strange but good problem ?

Post by NascarFool »

I can't really say it is a problem, just a strange happening. I have a Compaq Presario 715US laptop that is supposed to have a 4x4x24x cdrw / 4x dvd combo drive. The drive is made by Toshiba and the model number shows that it is an 8x4x24/8x drive. The strange part is, it burns cdrw disks at 8x. The disks are 10x certified cdrw disks.

If you own a Compaq laptop, head over to http://www.compaqordercenter.com/freeQR and get your FREE Quick Restore CD. My laptop came with one but they said they'll send me one for FREE. I like FREE. :D I think it is for Presario laptops that are fairly new.

*Edit* Actual speed is 8x4x24x not 6x4x24x. :D

If I were you I would RMA that drive!

Just tell them like, HEY I am supposed to have a 4x4x24 in this system, thats what I was promised, that's what i paid for, and that's what I want!

Whats the idea of substituting a 6x4x24/8x that burns at 8x anyway!

Let me know what they have to say :laugh
