I suppose the use of games as propaganda is a sign that it is a valid medium in today's world, however it also scares me because its not just the US army that is in on this bandwagon. There are also KKK FPS games... Not saying that any of you are foolish enough to fall in with that thought, but propaganda is just that.

Remember when you were little and you played doom? Well due to doom if monsters from hell came to earth I'd have no problems picking up a gun and blasting away... but now the enemies aren't fantasy they are "terrorists in black turbans" or "jewish bankers"

just my .02 cents (you'll have so many cents by the end of the year your ears will beed ;)

Well.... propaganda has been with us a LONG time.

Many Bugs Bunny cartoons during WWII were used as propaganda, and even Disney made an anti-nazi propaganda cartoon (I just happen to have found a copy of it at the last LAN party I attended - quite amazing actually).

The Army and other military are basically using the renewed interest in things military and patriotism in general to increase awareness, and attract quality recruits. Also a pro military 30 - 50 age group is likelier to back budgetary considerations for the military.
