Well for one thing, if the 32Mb sticks are PC66 then they may be giving you problems. You're running your RAM at 100 Mhz on that system. SOme PC66 sticks can do 100, but some can't.

It might work fine in Win98, but Win2K/XP is MUCH fussier about memory stability (and overclocking as well).

I'd try losing the PC66 sticks, but you should replace them with a PC100 or PC133 128Mb stick. XP runs like a pig on 128Mb.

Other than that, we'll need a lot more info to help out.

- Did you do a clean install or an upgrade? A clean install is recommended.

- Do you get this Blue Screen during the initial install of XP, before it starts copying files?

- What specifically does the blue screen say?

- Are you overclocking? XP is fussier about that than 98.

When you say Win Xp runs like a pig, is that good or bad?

I have always reffered to WIN 98 as a HOG myself! Hogs Hardrive space, Hogs RAM, Hogs CPU!

Having raised home grown pork, I have learned whats starts out as a little pig often turns into a fullblown HOG in a short time if well cared for, and you can't prevent it except to start over with a new one!

Is that what you meant buy WIN XP runs like a pig?

I haven't tried XP yet, so this is a serious question, sort of

I've heard XP transfers information to MS, is that true or can you turn it off? One of the reason I haven't tried it. None of thier business anything to do with MY personal property!! And yes, even though
I buy software from them, it is still MY personal property once installed on my computer! Just like MY CAR, none of Fords business what I do with it after I buy it! Paint it, hop it up, wrap it around a tree, none of thier bizz unless it was defective! MS WIN anything is defective in my opion! Just no other choice.

Did they actually do one right???
