okay guys will there be a problem if install windows 98se on the first part of the partion 15gb and on the second partition windows 2000



15gb win 98 se and win2k 15gb partition. they both will be primary partitions

Partition the hard drive load win98se first.... Once u havethat up and running insert the win2k disk and have at that just be sure to put the win2k on D and not C :)

you don't even need to make 2 partitions..
i believe win2k will let you make the 2nd partition after you've got the win98 in there...
it should give u the choice of converting your partition or making a new one w/ the remaining unpartitioned space

Can you give some more details on what you want to do with that machine ?
Is it the same NT4 server with 512MB-1GB RAM you asked about in an earlier thread?
Or do you have a handfull of different machines in development, like building your very own LAN ?

The partitioning might depend on the purpose of that machine.

windows nt computer is running now 512mb stick ram i had sitting around here.

the win2k and win 98 computer will be used only for gaming purposes

OK, in that case I would partition the hdd this way:

- C: Win98 , 2 GB
- D: Win2k , 3 GB
- E: the remaining space for games/apps/downloads

All partitions in FAT32, Win98 installed first on C: as mentioned before, next Win2k. Then install your games and apps on E:
Your setup will also work, C: Win98 15GB and D: Win2k 15GB.
