Guys need help choosing PSU..

Post by PreDatoR »

I'm gonna order an Enermax EG365P-VE Ok here's the catch... Which one do i want... The FM the FC the FMA or the FCA... Didn't know choosing a PSU was gonna be this big of a pain in the ass!!! Is there really much difference between any of those PSU's other than the Sleep mode option ( i never use sleep mode my computers either on or off...) And i noticed the FMA and FCA have an adjustable fan which ain't much of a big deal to me... LMK what y'all think...

I think the one i want is he FC version which is 57 at newegg add 6 for shipping.

Do yourself a favor and get an Enlight 340W. They are super quiet, relatively inexpensive and are on the AMD approved list for all Athlon XPs up to 1900+, Dunno about the 2000+ as that wasn't out yet last time I checked their list.

I built a 1600+ / epox 8kha+ based system for a guy with one and it rocked and was whipser quiet. I use Sparkle 350W PSU's for both my systems but they are a bit loud. Work great tho. :) I'd get the Enlight if I was building a system for myself right now. I think Greg ( Nexus_7) has the Enermax model you mention so e-mail him and ask him how he likes it.

Cheers, Vid_2

Somewhat along the same lines, what do you all recommend for a PSU for a dual Athlon 1800+ish system? 400-450W enough?

Personally, I would not buy Enermax. I think they are a decent product but are too popular. Vendors can get more for the name, so you pay more.

Personally, I would go with an Antec or a Sparkle, with my first choice being an Antec.....
