Athlon 1600+ or 1700+ is there much difference?

Post by hammerhead »

Got a nice little stocking stuffer and decided to buy a new XP processor. Can only afford a 1600+ or 1700+. I'm trying to find one that is already unlocked if anyone has one FS. Is there a significant performance increase with the 1700+? LMK! Thanks,

HH

At that speed you'll never notice a 100-200mhz difference anyway IMHO. If we were talking about adding 100mhz to an old P200 mhz machine I'd say "yes" but after a point the cpu speed difference becomes hardly noticeable for the "average user".
