any good Amd compatible 350w psu's??

Post by ApuN »

Sup all!
I'm building my first computer. I'm about to order an ak31 r.3 and couple it with 1600 xp. Should I wait a little longer for a better board to come out? I like the exact features this one has, plus it's really affordable, but I hear it has a prob w/ its bios vcore settings, and only goes to 166 bus...(does anyone think a new bios will soon correct this?)

Also, anyone use a cheap and quiet 350watt psu (a little cheaper than enermax or antec, but works good with amd boards?) Right now I'm looking at the 350 watters: A1 Electronics JX-9810UK/DUAL FAN ($34) and the CodeGen CG-350W 300xx ($26). They're at great prices and both Amd approved, but may be a little screwy or loud. any psu's out there are aluminum(shiny =)?
Thanks fellas!

Try the Enlight 340W. It's relatively cheap, quiet and is on AMD's recommended list for every one of it's +XP processors. I just used one with a system I built for a guy (AMD 1600+XP, Epox 8KHA+ etc.) and was impressed with it.

BTW, Welcome to PCA and enjoy your stay ! :+
