Seems people either love it or hate it. I am using it now and really like it. I have most of the GUI stuff turned off so it looks a lot like previous version of Windows but there are a lot of new things that I really like. There are a few bugs that I think are mostly driver related but give it some time and a service pack or two and I think it will become more popular than Win2k.

my only question is: What is Tyler Durden doing supporting a large multi-national corporation like MS? Next thing you know, you'll be drinking Starbucks or something ;)

I personally installed XP yesterday and I'm liking it. Looks cartoonish at first but once you change either the theme or the color scheme it's cool.

on another note

Every word you read of this useless fine print is another second off your life. Don't you have other things to do? Is your life so empty that you honestly can't think of a better way to spend these moments? Or are you so impressed with your authority that you give respect and credence to all who claim it? Do you read everything you're supposed to read? Do you think everything you're supposed to think? Buy what you're told you should want? Get out of your apartment. Meet a member of the opposite sex. Stop the excessive shopping and masturbation. Quit your job. Start a fight. Prove you're alive. If you don't claim your humanity you will become a statistic. You have been warned...

The jury's STILL out on that

It's on this box (older PC) but I'm not impressed yet.
It wouldn't install on my newer SCSI PC due to no XP SCSI adaptor drivers (which took me a while to figure out after MANY hassles).
I have yet to see what's so "good" about XP? OK, I like the XP Plus themes and cool pics included in the ka-zillion background scenes I now have but I didn't need another OS for that :)

Are you running soimething other than an Adaptec SCSI Adapter? I have a AHA 3950U2B on my system and XP has drivers for it.

No XP drivers mentioned, searched site, nothing. I could call or e-mail them but both Win98SE and Win2K work very well in that PC now, why bother?

I installed it on a PC and played with it for a few hours... didn't see the appeal. I'll stick with win2k for now.

Well I didnt like it much either. My sister in law bought a new comp from Future Shop and it came with XP loaded. They did NOT give her a disc. Isnt that illegal?
anyway since I am her new Tech SUpport I have been over there messing with xp and I guess it takes a while to get used to a new os.
She got a new scanner and FS couldnt get it working nor could I. No Drivers yet for 2 months they said.
Other complaints I have heard is it is harder than ME or any other os to get a home network going.
DOes XP recognize or have drivers for isa network cards?
It wouldnt find the isa network card on her comp no way no how...
I am going to wait a while since my comp has older stuff in it.
