5.1 sound...couldn't resist!!!

Post by b-man1 »

my klipsch 5.1's will be delivered on 8/3 unless FedEx betrays me! :D

i needed to get a new soundcard for the 5.1 outputs and considered the following (in this order also):

1. Philips Acoustic Edge
2. Hercules Game Theatre XP
3. Soundblaster 5.1 (unsure of which model)

the above choices were after reading the forums on the klipsch website to see what other 4.1/5.1 owners liked.

sooooooooo, i ended up finding a Soundblaster Live! MP3+ for only $34!!!! it wasn't at the top of my list, but for the price i couldn't help but get it. does anyone have one of these that can share their opinions on it?

Live! MP3+ info

thanks-

I'm not sure about the inputs on the Klipsch speakers, but did you get the Live! or the Live! 5.1?

You should do a review on 'em or atleast let us what your likes/dislikes about them are.

Enjoy your speakers :)
Thought I might show you my new baby: Sennheiser HD600
You've gotta hear these things... doesn't get any better. Well, maybe a dedicated headphone amp might make them even better, but I'm not sure if I've got $300 extra for that ;)

Yeah the bass on these suckers is really tight :) They're arguably the best headphones you can get on the consumer market, excluding one of those $20K huge monsters with the tube racks and all :D I doubt my DVDs will sound quite as cool as a surround setup like the 5.1s though.
Did you get your speakers delivered yet?
