Some viri use a script to execute the virus. That means by simply opening an email with that script, you can get infected.

Only way to stop it is to disable windows scripting and/or have a good anti virus that stops it cold. The free one I use http://www.grisoft.com stops them cold and they have regular updates. Another today actually.

Some said since we have the tongue smiley show when either using a colon p or colon P, to change one to that new smiley.

So now we have:

colon p= :p

colon P= :P

Klez and CD-ROM

Post by GillianAD »

My computer at home got infected by the Klez virus. Since about then my CD-ROM drive will not work, neither will my printer. Could this be the effects of the Klez virus? I am going to try the link which Blade posted tonight to see if I can not rid myself of this virus.

You can't just do a virus scan on Klez - it leaves things in the registry that must be removed.

There's a free Klez removal tool available here: http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/d ... .tool.html
