Maybe but Samsung's getting it soon as well.

Another huge battery drainer is when you're out of your area and roaming. If traveling and not near outlets, one could always buy one of those power packs but I'd want it to be rechargeable if possible vs a one time use thing.

That's another thing that gets me, charging batteries from batteries.

The Mophie Juice Pack is a nice battery which is also a phone case.

Yeah, haven't needed to buy one so far but I can see where one could could in handy if you were somewhere where electric outlets weren't available, maybe if flying and at airports often?
Everywhere I go there's either AC or 12V DC available.

Instead of battery life they keep giving us more CPU cores (do I REALLY need a quad core processor on a phone?) which just eats the ever shrinking battery.

You're not going to see too many phones anymore with battery compartments - they waste too much space, but batteries SHOULD have an inline connector and a case that can easily be pried apart. Instead they solder the battery pack to the board and glue the whole thing together now.
Many of these Quad core phones are actually more power efficient than most of the Dual Core ones are. It is simply a better processor design. Think of it similar to how a Core i7 completely outclasses a Core 2 Quad. Not needed to use all the cores all the time or at max speed makes it more efficient overall.
When all else fails, replace the user.

Pugsley - I'm kinda like you - need to carry a phone but don't use it much - I have an Iphone 5s and it lasts 3-5 days with light use. I don't talk on the phone more than a couple of times a week, bit I do use text messaging. I have everything turned off basically - no GPS, Web, etc. I had a Moto X and it would only last about 1.5 days max with little use. I also bought one of the higher amp wall chargers and it tops it up in about an hour or two. otherwise I just plug it into my computer. My wife has the same phone and she is a heavy user of FB, web, and calling and she rarely gets less than a day.

Agreed. It definitely depends on the user. My work phone is an iPhone 5s. During the week, when I'm done at the end of every day, it's down to like 10% and has to be charged. Over the weekend though, nothing's going on and it will run from SAT morning until MON morning when I'll see it at like 80%, two days later.
