Aged Tires
That has all ways been the thing that scared me about bikes. The engine is right below you and the piston travel it right at you. If it were to let go... But then again I never hear about it happening so it must not.

I've seen many a grenaded engine where everything was is many pieces but it's (almost) impossible for things like pistons to actually escape its cylinder. Usually, things like broken connecting rods come out the side or bottom.the piston travel it right at you
As for steering, yes, if a key is turned completely off, the column locks so not good if you still need to steer at all while moving. Apparently that doesn't happen with newer cars that have the push button start, stop switch (while moving) but I havent tryed that.
