I bought a new 2006 Ford van for the family, and pieces started falling off in the interior after about 3 mos. The radio and DVD player went south at 6 months and had to be replaced. I had always had decent luck with fords, got 175K on my 91 explorer and 185k on my 96 f-150, but the finish on this thing was really poor.
When I had to get a new car last winter I did beaucoup research and ended up buying a V-6 Toyota RAV4. Payed a whole lot more in the end than I had planned to ($23k), even though I had them find a car out of state that only had the options I wanted and paid $200 to have it driven up.
When you close the door, it sounds like a car. Got 10k on it now, only had the oil changed, etc. My only issue with the car is that it doesn't wash itself. Wish it had a little more clearance to get into my hunting camp in 4WD...mebbe an adjustable hydraulic lift kit
