I got COD4 at a boxing day week sale at NCIX. It's over now but I think you'll see sale prices around $40 now.

Canada has boxing day sales, the day after Christmas instead of Black Friday. Some of the online retailers use both.

It's really devious of them to let you keep your eXperience Points and have ranks from level 1-55. Then they give you promotions and extra weapons and accessories. I'm only at level 27 and have a long way to go to get the G36c, P90 and Desert Eagle. I'd really like that Over Kill perk that lets you carry 2 primary weapons also. I find I'm trying to play once a day to try to get at least one promotion.

Nuby..... Just drop into a Headquarters server and blast away. Headquarters hands out the most XP and you will rank up real fast. I of course found this out after I spent 1 day 1 hour and 16 min of playtime to reach 55. then you get to work on all of your challenges.

I've been having a hard time getting with the game, tough learning curve, but I've gotten much better in the last week. Finally gotten some worthwhile achievements.

I've actually found I prefer servers with small numbers of people. Much more enjoyable game. 6 - 8 in domination on most average maps is perfect. We even had a great time playing with 4 people last Wednesday when the Old Farts got together. I think 6 - 8 people we know on our own server would be perfect.

I'm also really enjoying individual deathmatch when there's only 3 or 4 people on the server. It turns into a very fun sneak and listen game.

Okay, is there any way to tell it's a Hardcore server other than it saying Hardcore in the server name (which some don't)? I don't see anything in the server info.

Hrm Cross-hairs dont show up, weapons do more damage. Umm there are other things but an honestly kinda brain dead right now and cant think of them.

Yeah, but is there a way to tell from looking at the server list that a server is hardcore? I keep joining servers that are hardcore without wanting to. Pretty annoying considering how slow and crappy that server list is when you go back to it.

Its an adult clan and very well run servers and we have alot of regular pubbers that are great guys. I really don't like COD4's server front end at all. Another piece of stupidity: once you're in a server and you decide you like it, there is no way to bookmark it as your favorite while you're on the server. If you leave the server the server list goes back to the top of the page and you lose the server you were on. Dumb.

They really need to work on their game browser. Sometimes when you hit refresh the pings will all jump to 1000. Also you can't filter out the hard core and old school modes plus the server info doesn't even show if these modes are running.
I think the perks is a great ideal. It's tough deciding with Perk 2, whether to use increased stopping power, increased health, increased rate of fire or carrying 2 primary weapons. I've been using the increased rate of fire.
I finally got to level 40 thanks to MidnightSin's tip on getting more XP on headquarters servers. You can earn 1000 XP in one 20 minute round if you're on the winning side. Now I've got my Stargate Atlantis P90 so I'm going back to the Domination game type. Colonel Sheppard now has some competition from Colonel Nuby1Canuby.
