Words of Advice

Post by eGoCeNTRoNiX »

Good Luck on Your Build! Only things I would recommend are to MAKE SURE your HSF is mounted property on your CPU. I burned up my first 2 CPUs because I didn't have everything seated properly and really didn't know what I was doing. That's my biggest word of advice.. :) eGo

Thanks... I got everything but PSU and Speakers today, they should arrive soon.. I got all my stuff from newegg.. And my stuff from zipzoomfly, all exactly what I wanted.. I will be careful about the HSF, I have a couple of freinds who built their's they dont know much more than I do but they could give it a look b4 I fire it up..Also my floppy drive didnt come with any wires, do I need to buy those or what?? the CD-Drive looks good the keyboard is sweet and the optical mouse is great both Logitech got it for a sweet $28 both black.. The CD/CD-R/CD-RW Drive came with Nero burning software which was nice because I have an old version of Easy CD Creator which isnt compatible with Win-XP so I needed that software for both my comps.. The XP 2500+ has a pretty nice looking heatsink... The 17" Flat Monitor is sweet.. Also i was wondering when I start my computer up for the first time am I going to have to mess with Bios? And if so how will it detect mouse or keyboard without using the install disc?
