new problem

the system clock wont stay at 166

it keep goin back down to 100

wcpuid said that its 100 now but the bios said its at 166

now what??

After you changed system performance to "user defined" and cpu external frequency to 166, did you "save changes" (be sure Y is selected) when you did exit?

thanx blade goin to try that right now

im goin to update the bios

do i need to do all the past update also

or can i just do the latest one

If you do a bios update, you will need to redo the bios settings. The latest one will have all the previous fixes. ;)

new problem

problem 1:--i install directx 9.0 but tron 2.0 tells me that its not installed

so far iv done it about 3 times

problem 2:--im looking at the net and out of no ware i lose my internet connection i try to renew my ip then windows cant find the at&t dhcp server

any ideas

should i of used one of the others

bios detects a duron not a XP

witch one
( * PCB 1.06 or earlier version need BIOS update )

Which version of the asus a7n8x deluxe do you have? There is version 1.03, 1.04, 1.06 and the newer 2.0.

Look near your PCI slots. It's either screen printed or on a sticker.

Right below the 2nd pci slow, there is the name "Asus A7N8X" printed in white. To the right is small letters showing the version. It'll be something like "rev 2.0, or whatever it is. ;)
