thanks pugsley........but I got the hook up covered. The only problem I have is getting it installed
I know I can get it installed when i buy it, but the cost is higher than the cost of the remote starter/unlocker.
I can get the starter for about 60, but the installation was gonna be like 90 (or so they say). Does that seem a little high? i havnt really priced around for installation yet, but it will be on an 88 mercury grand marquis

canton kid sounds like there might be some other problems with your tranny other than cold weather... I have never seen a manual tranny be that stiff in cold weather... Mine in my car will shift harder but i can still get all of the gears... Some newer manuals tranny's actually use ATF instead of gear oil... but if its using gear oil try using a synthetic in it. They don't seem to get as thick as organic oil does. At least in my experience. If its as bad as you say it is... they sell heaters that are like 200 watts tha are magnetic. Slap one of those on it and plug it in at night time... I put a block heater in my car cause it don't run good at all when tis cold out. Damn carb's suck! NExt car is gonna be fuel injected for sure!

This is the first COLD weather we had since we got the car. Tranny seems fine in all other ways but locks tight side to side in the cold. Like just think if it wer4e in WI, or near Chicago!

I heard a couple other people mention about the same type of problem with about 80 or above small manual trannies, though this is the first I had one do it. This is a Dodge Shelby Daytona with a 5 speed.
I don't think I'll be driving it durring the winter anyway much. Fans not working for the heater, doors not latching in cold, and tranny not shifting in cold. Also I think the wifey might have burn the clutch a bit or it was just getting old. If I tromp it the engine revs a bit to fast for the speed it gains. I think it is strating to slip a bit but only under heavy load like hot rodding :)

Or maybe that was just cold too??

Anyway I hope to get the walls and roof up for my shop this winter sumtime and that will be a good thing to rebuild. And my Bug, and Ranger pickup, and ..... and ..... I got a yard full!! 2 more not here and one I will be buying.

HMMMM.... wonder how one would do as a CASE?? BIG SERVER!
