first off, be sure you unplug everything that you don't need to boot (i.e. your soundcard, hard drive, etc.) the only things you should have plugged in are, your power, your RAM, your processor, and your video card...this should be the problem. My guess is one of these is either one of these isn't in properly or maybe your CPU or RAM gave out...

Do you know what BIOS the board uses ? AMI or AWARD or Phoenix ?
Makes it easier for me to look up the beepcodes.

awd. it is a shuttle ak31.

1.4g (usually...sometimes it decides to lock its self at 11 instead of 10.5)
2 256 micron dimms
8500
intel nic
audigy
2940u2w

I went threw the unpluging thing already. It might be the CPU but I dont know why. I didnt move anything. ah well..maby its time I get an XP but I was wanting to wait. :(

Haven't seen that beepcode either.
The only AwardBIOS beep code indicates that a video error has occurred and the BIOS cannot initialize the video screen to display any additional information. This beep code consists of a single long beep followed by two short beeps. Any other beeps are probably a RAM (Random Access Memory) problems.

This is pulled directly from http://www.phoenix.com/pcuser/awardbios ... codes.html

NOOO, only a single long beep followed by two short beeps is for videoproblem, EVERYTHING else is not documented and likely to be a RAM problem, dats what I quoted.

time to look for a pci videocard.

the part that ticks me off is Idodnt change anything. if I putzed around with it I could careless if I messed it up then I could shake my head in stupidity and jsut go on with it.

nexus-

my ak31 BSOD'ed me in win2000 randomly one day...and when i rebooted only 3/4 of the DDR registered....(i had 2x256MB crucial DDR)....i ended up taking one stick out. i don't know if the stick went bad or if it was the mobo...but it hasn't happened since. i tried swapping slots and it was sporadic if the RAM fully initialized or not. :(

well the smoke pumping out of the system just killed about any hope of a quick revival. some of the ram contacts o none dim are black and the mboard doesnt look all that promising. hope it didnt kill anything else. :( rma requests have been sent off to newegg and memorysuppliers. hope they are both good about it.
