LOL!
Christians warn us about the anti-christ for 2,000 years, and when he shows up, they buy a bible from him.

Re: Meet The New Mac Pro
That's oddly hypnotic.
Re: Meet The New Mac Pro
I can see somebody carrying it by that handle and hitting their leg spinning the case and causing it to drop out while holding it. Someone will do it.
Re: Meet The New Mac Pro
Oh look, only took them 6 years to make a Mac you can actually do pro work with, without having to spread all your devices across a desk.
And the monitor stand is an affordable $999. What a STEAL.

Re: Meet The New Mac Pro
The monitor stand being a seperate item for $1K is rediculous. I was reading that when they announced that at the conference, even the Apple fanboys weren't happy

Re: Meet The New Mac Pro
While I don't like the Apple Tax that's imposed on all of their products, they've always had nice displays. However, If I'm paying $5,000 for a monitor, it'd better come with a stand.
I considered a Mac Pro 20 years ago when they made their own processors. Now that they're just using Intel Xeons and AMD workstation graphics cards, the only thing really setting them apart, aside from price, is iOS and Final Cut.
I'm sure you could build a 4K video editing rig with a high end monitor and still come in under what this thing is going to cost. I think a 28 core Xeon will put a 3 grand hole in your pocket by itself.
Who is the market for this? I doubt graphics design companies are going to want to invest $10K to $35K in this setup.

Re: Meet The New Mac Pro
Sorry, but there's NOT a $1000 worth of metal there. I get that some users might not need it but why should those that do, have to bend over and take it?And the choice in stand makes sense, too, despite the price. Some target users will want to wall-mount it, others have a proprietary solution, and others will want the stand. Why make them choose?
Re: Meet The New Mac Pro
I predict apple will sell 10 stands total and 2 days after the sales the market will be flooded with $100 3rd party stands.
Re: Meet The New Mac Pro
2 days? Day one the 3rd part stands will be out.
