NOVA: Great Human Odyssey

Post by FlyingPenguin »

One of the best NOVA episodes I've ever seen. Not even a topic I'm usually interested in.

The last 20 minutes is a fascinating look at how humans migrated from eastern Asia across the Pacific - long before, and a greater feat, than the Europeans crossing the Atlantic. There's even evidence that they reached South America.

Gonna watch this tonight. Hopefully, they keep the speculation down. That's my biggest gripe about a lot of these shows.

It was pretty good. You'd think they would up the resolution a bit though. Interestingly, this is the same stuff my daughter is going over in her Discovery Channel home schooling. I think it's interesting how some of the dig sights have 20 people working in the shade, excellent lighting, & incredible labeling and then others have a bunch of foreigners walking on boards across heaps. I think that the sweet potato link to Easter Island is pretty cool.
