Yeah is was Crucial Ballistix. I'll swap it out for my GSkill and see what happens.

It's weird, because I decided just to screw around with oc'iing the memory and it's stable at 2100 @ 1.65 8-8-8-24 . go figure. WV dual channel

This motherboard reminds me of putting too much fuel in an old Zippo lighter and having it run down your leg....

Enough computronics for the day. Now I'm gonna blow some stuff out in outer space.

There kay be a bios setting called "enable xps timing" or something along those lines. It needs to be turned on in order for your clock speed to register correcty.

I'm throwing in the towel on this one. Don't need the aggravation. This is a highly rated board but unless you are really leet with bios it's very difficult. It turns out that optimized default bios settings are actually a 10% overclock. You can manually crank it back to what would be default on any other board, but if you miss something and it crashes, you end with the enhanced bios again. I knew there were some issues on this, but I assumed it would start off at normal defaults. I'm tired of screwing with it.

Anyone here who is interested PCA price is $100. Gigabyte Z97X-UD5H BK flashed to the latest bios which are 7 (beta)

I've always been a fan of Asus boards. Never had problems with them.

I read like 8 reviews on this board and the only real negative was pricey.

The proverbial straw that broke the camels back on the other board was when I flashed the bios and found a new section called "upgrade your cpu" wtf? It wasn't auto detecting the cpu - it was est to an I7 3770. I changed it to the right CPU....it turned out this was mb was version 1.0, the current is 1.1. thanks Amazon for the lower price

. something worth looking out for.
