LOL - yeah it did not work. If I bring up the task manager and look at the Performance tab, it still shows only one CPU. My next step will be to downgrade the BIOS to the original. I'm using the latest BIOS. After this experience with this mobo, I believe it's a POS due to this issue, and the temperature of the northbridge. I normally stick with Asus boards, but this sucker is a POS.
Instead of dealing with the XP issue, I'm going to install Kubuntu instead. I'm planning on selling this rig as I don't really need it (my son gave it to me after he go it as a non working system). With Kubuntu installed, I can demonstrate that it works.
Update: I have a copy of Vista that I got from FP (thanks) that I'll load on there instead. Looking at this more, I believe that this mobo does not fully support XP, and that you need at least Vista to run on it.
Anyone ever had XP not complete a fresh install?
