I use the Blackberry Bold for work on Verizon and it works great. I prefer you get an Android phone because I save all my contacts in gmail so I cannot lose them. Gmail syncs to Android & vice-verse. Also with an Android, you can use free apps like drop box or drive to automatically sync your photos to. Drop-box or drive are in the cloud so no worries switching phones. Just keep buying Android in the future and as soon as you log in, your stuff will sync up. Unless Sprint offers some kind of backup assistant like Verizon to sync contacts, I would recommend an Android

Just checked Sprint's site, these are the better Android phones I'd recommend :

Samsung Galaxy S® III (My preference)
Samsung Galaxy S® II (Older model to the above)
Samsung Galaxy Note® II (Big ass screen phone 5.5")

just watch out for the battery life on the newer ones, especially if they are 4G. they may be better now, but when they came out they wouldn't last a whole day.

I've got an old I Phone (ATT) that's shared on my wife's account. I don't use the phone much, but the touchscreen works for me and it will hold a charge for close to a week.

Just found this on slickdeals.net, just make sure your due for an upgrade before committing:

"...Samsung Galaxy S III $99 with $50 Google Play Credit ATT, VZW, SPRINT, New or Upgrade
I know it's not as great as the deals we saw during Black Friday, but Radio Shack (and Target mobile B&M) have the SGS3 for $99 for new and upgrade, and they also include a $50 Google Play credit. It's almost like getting the phone for $49.

For Sprint, AT&T, and VZW.

radioshackwireless.com/

Looks like you get free shipping and $20 back in coupons after purchase through 12/17 from radioshack..."

Yeah that's the phone I'm going to get when my contract expires in March. Nice phone. Still love my Evo 4G, but it looks like a brick in comparison.

I need to read the books and surf tomorrow samsungs site .right now this is a brick ! Don't even have one phone no. in it. im getting a full battery charge before I play. its sad to say it going to be a learning curve for me. but change is good right. im use to using semi simple phones.
this phone looks like it has more preloaded apps. then the wifes apple Ipad has now or came new with when she bought it.
it will be fun once i start using it im sure. first thing wife asked me when i came walking into the house was if it had (apples I talk on it)I think thats what she called it . the program she was talking about works like skype !

It's an Android phone. Simplest thing is to link it to a Gmail account and that way the phone automatically syncs address book (contacts) and calendar with it. That way they're backed up, and you can access them from a PC. It's easier to enter contacts on a PC.

that is what im hoping ~ so looking forward to using this phone.
also love the large foot print (screen) now I can look stuff up and read it online and thats a major reason why I went with this phone . I refused to use my blackberry online because the screen was to hard to read. so i never used 9/10 of the phone apps. even its camera was a pain. do to the location of its lens.you put your finger over it as the lid had to be open to take a picture.

I'm also getting the Galaxy III in March when I'm able to upgrade (US Cell). It's huge but that's what I like about it. My eyes aren't getting any better with age, nor is my dexterity.

Mike,

"FaceTime" video calls are free for and only available to Apple users.

Skype, Tango, Oovoo and Fring offer free video calling between Android and Apple devices but you need to install the app on both the Android and Apple devices for it to work.

Enjoy!
