you have to be careful about their wording, it can be tricky

Access points are used to connect Wireless devices to an already existing wired network, it doesn't do what the wording leads you to believe, you will need a Wireless extender(expander) for that.
When all else fails, replace the user.

I just talked to a WiFi guro here and he said it could be done, there is a setting on the AP you need to set, it need to be set for bridging mode

I think if its set to bridge its not going to also act as an AP. That means it would be a cableless run but you would need a cable plugged into the second AP to get network access. You would need two radio's to do bridging and have it act as an AP. Of course it could be done with one radio and an access point that has some special software, but I don't know of anything that would. The expander or a third AP is what you need.

Wireless bridging is meant to be used to bridge two-wired networks...

According to reading the manual, you can set it to Wireless Repeater Mode as long as you have the WAP54G Access point or WRT54G Router by Linksys

According to Linksys's manual, it won't work with your old router though...
