AMD Mainboard

Post by ShibasScotch »

Whats up everyone !

I am looking to get a new processor, MB, and Ram

I am gonna get an AMD 2800XP barton core, (cant afford the 64 fx yet :) ) and a gig o corsair twin X, but the mainboard is my problem. I would love the Asus A7N8X delux rev 2, however, I need more IDE controllers, and dont really want to deal with a PCI card for more. SATA is nice, but I again, dont have the $$ for it. So the moral of the story is, does anyone know of a good board that will support overclocking, dual channel DDR, more than 2 IDE channels, and is stable ?? I have looked at alot of boards, but none have a slew of good reviews, maybe cuz eeryone got the a7n8x, but thanks for the input guys !

Check out this Gigabyte
IDE: 4x UltraDMA 133/100/66(8 Drives)

There's a few more Gigabyte mobo's like that, but are <a href="http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduct.a ... er=1">more expensive</a>.

Another possiblity is to consider usb drives or enclosures. I run one from a usb 2.0 enclosure and I can't tell any difference from the installed drives.
